Holiday Gift Guide: Book Lovers

Hi Friends!

My tree is up, snow is on the ground and my Winter smelling candles are lit. I would say this is a great start for the countdown to Christmas! This Holiday season, I decided to create a series called "Holiday Gift Guide". Today's post will be focused on gift ideas for book lovers. I teamed up with @admiring_books on Instagram, to come up with the ULTIMATE gift guide for you.

The following gifts are aimed for those who are book lovers, adventure seekers and daydreamers.

1. Books (if it wasn't obvious)

Disclaimer: When purchasing books for an avid reader the one thing you can never do wrong is purchase books. Readers are open to exploring new places and characters.

Unsure of what genre they like? No worries!! Pick up your favorite book and include a thoughtful note as to why you like the book. This makes it a more personal gift and shows you are trying to connect with your friend, relative or significant other. Nothing says "I care about you" more than a thoughtful gift. If you don't have a favorite, that's OK! Pop into Barnes & Noble or your local bookstore and browse the isles. See what book catches your eye. If the person you're shopping for is outgoing and has a colorful personality, see if there are any book covers or plots that spark your interest, and reflects who you think the person you're buying for, is.

Barnes and Noble did a fantastic job piecing together a list of 2016's Best Selling Books. It is easy to navigate with the list of genres displayed on the left hand side. This will help if you're looking for a certain type of book. There are listings from Children's stories to Young Adult and Adult novels.

Tip: Ask your book lover what is on their reading list, then go scoop those books off the shelves!!

2. Accessories

As a fellow book lover, nothing pleases me more than lighting a candle, creating a display or arranging trinkets for an aesthetically pleasing picture to flood the internet with.

"From The Page" is an Etsy shop "inspired by scents and scenes from novels". Imagine how perfect it would be to smell the environment or magical place you're reading about!! Shop here!

"The Melting Library" also has candles and room spray, which will help transform your home into Hogwarts!! Check out the other options!

Tea Lights, Candles, Wax Melts, Character Candles and More Themes, OH MY! "Novelly Yours" also has an adorable monthly candle subscription box. I wish I thought of this creative idea! Check 'Em Out!

I adore this next shop! I personally am a bookmark fanatic. I have been since I was a little girl, and this shop makes me really excited. "Behind The Pages" offers bookmarks that you can color in yourself!

This DIY bookmark is under $5!!! Additionally, this shop offers Lip Balm, Soap and Posters.

"Bubble and Geek" is "dedicated to making nerdy noses happy with a collection of soy candles, melts, soap, perfume and lip balm." Plus, the "line has expanded to include over 40 unique, pop culture- themed fragrance options." HOW COOL!!!! I love that have the products separated by Fandom (fans of particular people, shows, books, etc) on their website. It is easier as a shopper to locate a specific product.

Tip: Stickers, Character Bobbleheads, Journals and Book themed merchandise makes for a cute stocking stuffer. Target, Barnes & Noble and Etsy are great for finding these things.

3. Subscription Boxes

Monthly book subscriptions are the latest (and greatest) thing! Every month or however often you purchase one, will be delivered to your door with different books and accessories. Talk about a fun way to discover new reads- especially ones you might not have thought to purchase.

OwlCrate boxes "will contain one brand new hardcover Young Adult novel, as well as 3-5 other bookish keepsakes to help set the mood for your literary adventure. Every box will be built with a super fun and creative theme in mind, and will also include special goodies right from the author!" Purchase your box here. Enter the code WELCOME10 to receive 10% off your purchase!

The Bookish Box works with "small shops to bring you quality, usable items inspired by your favorite novels. Each box includes a shirt designed by Appraising Pages and 3-5 home, beauty and fashion items." Read more about it on their website here.

Lit Kit (purchase here) is a subscription box "crafted to delight devotees of experimental literature, creative writing, and pen-and-ink publishing." They also "bundle these carefully chosen publications with an assortment of unique literary devices, including high- quality writing implements and supplies, beautiful journals, thought- provoking prompts, and other interesting items intended to get your creative inks flowing freely."
