10 Tips For Glowing Wedding Day Skin
Skin can be frustrating. It seems like on the most important days, acne decides to make an appearance. Well, not to worry because I’m here to help you with your skin! If you’re battling dryness, oily skin or acne, these tips can certainly help. Say goodbye to problematic skin and stressing out about it before your big day. After all you have other more important things to think about (like marrying the love of your life)!
1. CREATE A SKINCARE ROUTINE
It is important to make sure the products going on your face are working according to your skin type and needs. Don’t be afraid to try new products. Sephora has the option of giving out free samples. Before you invest in anything new, ask for samples! However, you want to make sure to try out new products at least 6 months prior to your big day- it can take your skin time to adjust to new things so you don’t want to be sampling a new face cream or mask the week before the wedding!
2. VITAMINS & A PROBIOTIC
Adding a daily vitamin and probiotic will help your body fight off any unwanted bacteria and strengthen the immune system. Vitamins such as C and E are especially great. There are also brands that tailor specifically to hair, skin and nails.
3. STAY HYDRATED
Drink 6-8 glasses of water daily, to stay hydrated. If you are not a fan of the way water tastes, try adding your favorite fruits to a cold glass or try flavored coconut water. This will help the skin balance itself and keep you looking glowing all day long!
Vegetables, especially green veggies help the body in so many ways. One is the vitamins and nutrients which make our skin look stunning! Green juice and smoothies help clear acne and bacteria- so drink up ladies.
5. MANAGE STRESS
Stress is one of the most common reasons for breakouts. Working out, taking time to meditate, reading and having alone time are a few of the ways that can help balance stress levels. Another fantastic way is with yoga.
6. WEEKLY FACE MASKS
It is important to have a weekly face mask to target any breakouts and clean the pores from any makeup that was not properly washed off. There are a ton of affordable, at home, do it yourself face masks- just Google it!
7. SATIN PILLOWCASES
Satin pillowcases are known to benefit this, plus hair. Satin is great for clear skin because the fibers are so tight that it actually helps us keep moisture in our face and does not absorb or wipe our facial products off. This also helps with wrinkle prevention. Plus, the material does not pull on the hair strands in the middle of the night, causing breakage. And they are super comfortable so it’s an all-around win!
8. COOL SHOWERS
Taking lukewarm to cool showers is beneficial because we are not stripping the skin of the natural properties. Too hot of water can dry it out and leave the face/ body feeling tight and even peel. If you are a fan of hot showers, the last minute or thirty seconds of your shower, switch to a cold blast, locking in moisture to the skin.
9. TREAT YOURSELF TO A FACIAL
It’s nice every once and a while to have a pampering session. Facials are fantastic for clearing out the pores and starting fresh. I like to think of facials as the “reset” button. And they can also give you some “me time” to de-stress!
10. AVOID TOUCHING YOUR FACE
When we touch our face and neck, the oils and germs from our hands are transferred to our faces. These oils can get stuck in the pores and clog them, causing acne.
