Water Street Welcomes Mes Amies Boutique

The Mes Amies story begins with founder, Casey Plasch, deciding enough is enough. After hearing disappointment from women about dress shopping, she decided to open her own boutique tailored to women of all ages, body types, and for any occasion. While dress shopping can be glamorous and feel like a Cinderella moment, it can also be quite stressful. How do you know what will look good on from the hangers and display? Why are some sizes in the 30’s and others aren’t? There are a million and one questions and considerations it seems that goes into selecting a dress. Luckily Mes Amies’s knowledge and skillset allows for easy, stress- free shopping. The team of experts make it a point to know each customer walking through the door. Personal style, physique, occasion, and current trends come into play when the stylists hand select each garment. After learning and experiencing this process for myself, all I have left to say is… welcome to Water Street, Mes Amies Boutique. I’m glad you’re in town!

Last week I ventured to the boutique and Casey helped me select dresses for multiple occasions. What I like about Mes Amies is the versatility of each garment. The first dress Casey choose is a lovely orange and blue patterned dress. This is perfect for the office and after hour activities. The fabric is firm where when I sit down, it does not crease or look tossed around. I paired this dress with a nude heel to keep the focus on the dress. I chose a solid color, too because the material has a pattern and I didn’t want the two pieces competing.

Look number two is a causal weekend dress. What I like about this one is how unique it is. I have not seen anything like this in other stores or online. The pockets make this dress functional. While shopping around downtown I popped my phone into the pocket. The material of the dress is thick enough where my phone wasn’t pulling the fabric down and stretching it out. I was nervous for this dress because it felt so heavy. However, the breathability of it threw me for a loop! I also like how the straps are large enough to cover my bra straps.. ladies, talk about a win!

Stripe Summer Dress

This jumpsuit is my all time favorite. I could write an entire blogpost on this jumpsuit and that would barely scratch the surface of my affection for it. While the sleeves are longer, I was not warmer in it. The jumpsuit has a velvet like feel to it with thin (but not see through!) fabric that is loose yet hugs my curves. The liner inside is also soft- most jumpsuits I’ve tried on or own either move and look wrinkly/ bunched or are incredibly itchy. This one however, is neither of those things. I’m a fan of the crop pant with the blazer-esque top half. The collar is firm and stays in place. It doesn’t fold over or crease- no “bacon collar” here! I dressed this up with heels but also like that I can pair it with flats. I will definitely be sporting this around town and also work meetings.

Lastly, Casey selected this outfit based on my body type. She chose this dress and explained to me the criteria why this dress would be a good candidate for me to wear to a wedding. The cap sleeves will shield the top of my shoulders from the sun- aka the place I always burn, while keeping me cool during any outdoor section. The print of this dress ties in the various color trends we have seen on the runway, and the slight cinch at the waist hugs my hips without drawing too much attention to my curves.

This is a relaxed yet effortlessly stylish garment. I again opted for nude heels to keep the focus on the stunning dress. Lastly, I paired a lilac handbag with it to accent the colors in the dress.
