One sentence here.
If you know me, it’s no secret my favorite coffee shop is My Half of the Sky. They are a dedicated to ending human trafficking , which is modern day slavery. While slavery isn’t the same as it was prior to the Thirteenth Amendment, it does still have a presence on this earth, today. Throughout the month of January I will be sharing information I have learned over the years, organizations fighting to see the end, and tips for how we can contribute to the eradication of human trafficking. This topic is far from easy to talk about, but I encourage you to push past the discomfort to learn about this polarizing issue.
Last year I wrote a series answering the following questions. I encourage you to start with this article and learn who slavery affects and where it happens. Human trafficking/ modern day slavery is not exclusive to under developed areas or more poor countries. This is an issue right here in our hometown. Learn how you can recognize human trafficking and how to safely report it. We have the power to put an end to trafficking. Here are 12 ways you can do so, today.
